Teijin completed on 1 October 2026 the absorption merger of its wholly owned textile subsidiary with a wholly owned subsidiary of Asahi Kasei. The Teijin subsidiary survived, and the Asahi Kasei unit ceased to exist. Teijin said the completion came as scheduled.
What the merged company looks like
The combined business is named TA Frontier. Teijin holds 80% and Asahi Kasei 20%. Capital is ¥2bn, the fiscal year ends on 31 March, and the head office is in Nakanoshima, Osaka.
Teijin lists the business as the manufacture, processing, sale and import and export of:
- polyester and other filament yarn and staple fiber
- textiles
- apparel
- vehicle materials
- chemicals
- building and interior materials
- industrial materials
- household products
Teijin said that merging the two companies' customer and business bases would let it reach a wider range of customers. It also said it would expand products and services using both companies' strengths, with the aim of sustained growth and higher corporate value. It gave no revenue, cost or synergy figures.
Guidance unchanged
Teijin said the effect on its consolidated results is already in the full-year forecast for the year ending March 2027, published on 4 August 2026, so the forecast stands.
The notice follows two earlier Teijin disclosures: one dated 1 December 2025 on the final agreement for the integration, and one dated 30 July 2026 on the absorption merger agreement. The notice does not give financial terms.
