Oasis Management Company Ltd. has pushed its voting stake in AEON Financial Service Co., Ltd. above 10%, according to a major-shareholder change notice the Tokyo-listed lender filed on August 13, 2026. The Cayman Islands-based fund's holding rose to 233,243 votes, equal to 23,324,348 shares and 10.81% of voting rights, from 211,360 votes (21,136,048 shares, 9.80%) as of May 1, 2026.
AEON Financial Service said it confirmed the change after Oasis filed an amended large shareholding report with the Kanto Local Finance Bureau on August 12, 2026. The percentages are calculated against 2,156,608 total voting rights, based on 216,010,128 shares issued as of February 28, 2026 minus 125,955 treasury shares held on the same date.
The filing lists Oasis's representative as General Counsel Phillip Meyer and describes the fund's business as managing assets for clients and funds. AEON Financial Service added that it cannot independently confirm the beneficial ownership behind the reported figures, which is why it did not rank Oasis among its largest shareholders in the notice.
The disclosure gives no indication of what, if anything, Oasis plans to do with the larger stake. AEON Financial Service's own filing states there is no further outlook to report beyond the change itself, and it does not describe any letter, proposal, or strategic demand from the fund. For now, the public record shows only a bigger number next to Oasis's name, not a plan attached to it.
