PowerX, the Tokyo Growth-listed battery maker (code 485A), began shipping its Mega Power 2500 on 26 October, but the order book is weighted toward next year. Of 477 firm orders, 30 units are scheduled for delivery in 2026, 444 in 2027 and 3 in 2028.
The company says the effect on its consolidated forecast for the year to December 2026 is minor. It said it would announce promptly if a revision proves necessary.
What the system is
The Mega Power 2500 is a liquid-cooled battery system in a 10-foot container, with a nominal capacity of 2,507 kWh. PowerX says that against its earlier 20-foot container systems the footprint is about half, and capacity per unit of footprint is about 1.8 times higher. It has also obtained a Level 1 conformity label under JC-STAR, a security scheme for IoT products.
The company positions the compact design for grid-scale storage sites and for installation alongside solar plants.
Orders are not revenue
The 477-unit total is as of 25 October and converts to roughly 1.19 GWh at the nominal rating. PowerX defines a firm order as a binding order with a signed sales contract; deals still in contract talks and expected orders are excluded. The total includes projects covered by adoption results the company announced earlier.
The scheduled delivery year does not indicate the year in which revenue is planned to be booked. PowerX says it recognises revenue on delivery and acceptance of each project. The announcement gives no revenue figure for the orders.
Production progress belongs to a different product
The company said production of the Mega Power 2700A, which covers its 2026 shipment plan, is already complete. Its production progress rate for the year stood at 99.4% as of 25 October, against 60% in the second-quarter results presentation of 13 August. PowerX calculates the rate from inventory already produced, converted to sales value as a share of equipment sales revenue. It says the figure does not measure progress in booking revenue. Plant timetable
Mega Power 2500 production began in September at the Okayama No. 2 plant, inside Mitsui E&S's Tamano works, in line with the 13 August plan. Shipping started on 26 October. The line at the Power Base headquarters plant is still due to start in January 2027, which the company says is unchanged.
