Nisshinbo Holdings said a group company will take over Panasonic Connect's municipal and power-sector water businesses under a business transfer agreement dated 4 November 2026. Completion is planned for 1 April 2027.
What is changing hands
The business covers development and sale of dam management systems, irrigation water management systems, telemetry and discharge-warning systems, and flood-prevention telemetry. Nisshinbo's board resolved on 30 October 2026 to approve the purchase.
Nisshinbo says its group already works in disaster prevention and river information. It plans to combine Panasonic Connect's water-sector technology, know-how and customer base with its own disaster-prevention and river systems, communications technology and operating experience. The stated aim is a stronger offer in water resource management as flooding grows more frequent and severe and infrastructure ages.
The numbers disclosed
Panasonic Connect's sales from the business were ¥2.79bn in the year to March 2023, ¥2.15bn in the year to March 2024, ¥1.75bn in the year to March 2025 and ¥2.42bn in the year to March 2026.
The purchase price is undisclosed because of contractual confidentiality obligations. Nisshinbo expects the effect on its current consolidated results to be minor for now.
Conditions
The transfer is conditional on approval from the relevant authorities and other required procedures. Nisshinbo reports no capital, personnel, trading or related-party relationship between itself or the buyer and Panasonic Connect.
