Obayashi has completed its purchase of BCI UK Holdings Limited, the holding company that owns all shares of Multiplex Global Limited. The acquisition closed on October 30, 2026, according to an extraordinary report the contractor filed on November 2.

The deal was announced on June 18, 2026, as an acquisition of Multiplex, which builds in Australia, the UK and Canada.

Eleven companies, three markets

Because of the closing, 11 companies under Multiplex become Obayashi's specified subsidiaries. The filing says each has capital equal to at least 10% of Obayashi's own capital, which is the test for that status. Obayashi holds every one of them at 100%, all indirectly.

Six are in Sydney, three in London and two in Toronto. Most are holding companies, but the list includes operating builders: Multiplex Constructions Pty Ltd and Multiplex Constructions QLD Pty Ltd in Australia, Multiplex Construction Europe Limited in the UK and Multiplex Construction Canada Limited in Canada.

Among the Australian companies listed, the largest by capital is Multiplex Pty Ltd, a Sydney holding company with A$2,756mn at September 30, 2026. The UK builder, Multiplex Construction Europe Limited, shows £111mn, and its Canadian counterpart C$61mn. These are subsidiary capital figures, not the price Obayashi paid. The report does not state the purchase price.
