Mitsubishi Motors said a settlement has been reached in the lawsuit against its US subsidiary, Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA), and that the litigation ended on October 6, US local time. The company announced it in a TDnet notice dated October 7.

What the notice says

The case is the one Mitsubishi Motors disclosed on December 23, 2025, in a notice on the appeal-court ruling in the MMNA litigation. The new notice is a follow-up to that disclosure.

The cost

Mitsubishi Motors plans to book the cost of ending the case in its consolidated results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027. The notice gives no amount. It says that, after weighing the effect of the matter, the company is making no change to its consolidated earnings forecast at this point.

No admission

The settlement does not mean Mitsubishi Motors or MMNA accepted the plaintiffs' claims or acknowledged responsibility, the notice says. The company added that it will continue to supply vehicles that comply with laws and safety standards. The notice does not describe the plaintiffs' claims.
