Falcom forecasts record profit on strong game sales and lifts dividend plan to ¥60

Nihon Falcom raised its operating profit forecast for the year to September to ¥2.8bn from ¥2.2bn, crediting sales of its recent releases, and plans a ¥60 dividend including a ¥30 commemorative payout.

Nihon Falcom now expects record sales and profit for the year ended 30 September 2026, and plans to raise its dividend to match. The Tokyo-listed game maker raised its forecast in a revision notice on 7 October, replacing the guidance it published on 13 May.

What moved

Sales are now forecast at ¥4.3bn, up from ¥3.6bn. Operating profit and ordinary profit are each forecast at ¥2.8bn, up from ¥2.2bn. Net profit is forecast at ¥1.9bn, up from ¥1.5bn, and earnings per share at ¥191.13, up from ¥145.91. The company states the increases as 19.4% for sales, 27.2% for operating and ordinary profit, and 26.6% for net profit. The prior year's actual sales were ¥2.61bn and operating profit ¥1.34bn.

The stated reason

Falcom credits steady sales of three games. The first is the title it launched worldwide on 17 September, called "the 2nd". The second is a game released in Japan and Asia on 16 July. The third is "the 1st", launched last September, which continues to sell well globally. Together they put results above the original forecast, and Falcom expects records in sales, operating profit, ordinary profit and net profit. The notice gives no unit sales for any of the titles.

The dividend

A separate notice raises the full-year dividend forecast to ¥60 per share from ¥10, all payable at year-end. The payout is ¥30 ordinary, up ¥20, plus a ¥30 commemorative dividend marking the flagship series passing 10 million copies sold worldwide. The commemorative payment is to be put to the annual shareholders' meeting planned for December 2026. The prior year's dividend was ¥20, half of it commemorative.

These are forecasts, not audited results. Falcom says actual figures may differ.
