Metaplanet's Operating Profit Doubles, But a ¥184.3bn Bitcoin Writedown Wipes It Out
Metaplanet's revenue and operating profit both more than doubled in the first half, but a ¥184.3bn non-cash writedown on its 43,000 BTC holding pushed the company to a ¥182.8bn net loss. It also closed a ¥2.1bn deal for Siiibo Securities, now Metaplanet Securities, to sell bitcoin-backed corporate bonds under a program called BitBonds.
