Panasonic Holdings raised its forecast annual dividend to ¥70 a share from ¥54, a ¥16 increase that falls entirely on the year-end payment. The board resolved the change on 30 October 2026, the same day the company lifted its profit guidance.
What the payout rests on
The company's stated policy is to share profit in line with consolidated results, using a 30% consolidated payout ratio as a guide. Panasonic said the dividend revision follows from its review of full-year guidance for the year to March 2027.
That review lifted the operating profit forecast to ¥710bn from ¥590bn, and net profit attributable to owners of the parent to ¥540bn from ¥450bn. Sales guidance rose to ¥8.4tn from ¥7.8tn. Forecast earnings per share is ¥231.26, against ¥192.73 before. The previous year's operating profit was ¥236.4bn.
The first half supplies the base. Sales for the six months to 30 September were ¥4.09tn, up 7.1%. Operating profit was ¥363.2bn against ¥165.0bn a year earlier, and profit attributable to owners of the parent was ¥277.0bn. The figures include ¥19bn of recall costs for drum-type washer-dryers.
Interim dividend and year-end forecast
The interim dividend is ¥27 a share, up from ¥20 a year earlier. The new ¥43 year-end payment is a forecast, not a declared dividend, and it replaces the earlier ¥27 projection. Panasonic expects the annual total to be ¥30 above last year's ¥40.
The earnings summary says it is outside the scope of review by an accountant or audit firm, and the guidance carries the company's standard forward-looking caveats. It refers readers to a separate slide presentation for the drivers behind the results and the revised outlook rather than stating them.
