Konami Group has raised its forecast for the year to March 2027 across every profit line, saying first-half sales and profit ran ahead of plan and that main digital titles including eFootball and Yu-Gi-Oh performed well. The company named the two franchises in its revised guidance, issued with interim results on 29 October 2026.
The new numbers
Konami now expects sales of ¥583bn, up from ¥505bn in its previous forecast (a 15.4% increase). Business profit is guided at ¥200bn, against ¥150bn before. Operating profit and pre-tax profit are each guided at ¥193bn, up from ¥143bn. Profit attributable to owners of the parent is guided at ¥135bn, up from ¥101bn.
Business profit, which Konami defines as sales less cost of sales and selling, general and administrative expenses, is a separate line from operating profit. Both are forecasts, not results. Against the year to March 2026, the new guide implies sales growth of 18.1%, business profit growth of 39.3% and operating profit growth of 42.0%.
Konami's stated reason is that sales and profits in the six months to September ran ahead of plan. It says eFootball, Yu-Gi-Oh and other main titles in digital entertainment are performing well.
The first half
Interim sales were ¥308.0bn, up 37.0%, with business profit of ¥112.1bn (up 72.2%), operating profit of ¥111.3bn (up 73.1%) and profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥79.2bn (up 70.5%). Konami called each a record for an interim period. Digital entertainment sales rose 44.3% to ¥243.5bn, and its business profit rose 75.1% to ¥107.5bn. The interim results are not subject to auditor review.
Dividend
The year-end dividend forecast rises to ¥187 a share from ¥112, which puts the annual forecast at ¥299 including the ¥112 interim payout. That is ¥75 above the earlier forecast. Konami's basic policy is a payout of at least 30% of consolidated profit. Konami cautions that actual results could differ widely from the forecasts, citing the economy, market trends and yen exchange rates.
