McDonald's Holdings Company (Japan), Ltd. filed its half-year securities report with the Kanto Local Finance Bureau on August 10, 2026, covering the six months to June 30. The number that stands out is 43: consecutive quarters of same-store sales growth, a streak reaching back to the final quarter of 2015. Same-store sales rose 5.9% in the half, helping push consolidated net sales to ¥204.1bn from ¥203.3bn a year earlier.

The company implemented a price revision in February 2026, alongside renewals of some products and a rotating promotion that discounted popular items in turn. From June it leaned into its FIFA World Cup 26 sponsorship, running campaigns built around food and fan experiences for customers outside the stadiums.

On the store side, McDonald's Japan opened 35 restaurants and closed 22 in the half, remodeled 189, and ended June with 3,038 locations, split between 664 company-operated and 2,374 franchised sites. Management says it revised its full-year earnings forecast for the year ending December 2026 based on these half-year results, though the filing does not specify the new figures. Full-year net sales for 2025 ran ¥416.6bn, a rough marker of scale as the second half unfolds.
