LY lifts revenue and adjusted EBITDA guidance as PayPay consolidation runs ahead of plan

LY Corporation lifted its full-year adjusted EBITDA guide 9.4% to ¥640bn, saying PayPay's profitability is absorbing higher promotion and payment-fee costs, with Askul and LINE MAN revenue also ahead of plan.

LY Corporation raised its guidance for the year to March 2027 on 5 November: revenue to ¥2.33tn from ¥2.24tn (up 4.0%), adjusted EBITDA to ¥640bn from ¥585bn (up 9.4%), and adjusted EPS to ¥35.0 from ¥30.0 (up 16.7%).

What is carrying the upgrade

The company says revenue is running above its original assumption at Askul and LINE MAN CORPORATION PTE. LTD. in commerce, and at the PayPay consolidation in strategy. That consolidation covers PayPay, PayPay Card, Credit Engine, PayPay Bank and PayPay Securities, with LY's own IFRS adjustments.

On profit, LY says PayPay's profitability beat its assumption and absorbed higher promotion and payment-fee costs that come with growth. In the half to September, the strategy segment's adjusted EBITDA rose 66.8% to ¥74.1bn on revenue of ¥271.0bn, up 31.4%, and PayPay's consolidated payment volume reached ¥11.1tn, up 21.3%. Commerce adjusted EBITDA rose 16.3% to ¥83.3bn.

Not all organic

Part of the commerce gain comes from consolidating BEENOS and LINE MAN, which LY says added revenue but also promotion and personnel costs. Adjusted EBITDA is not statutory profit: interim operating profit fell 7.3% to ¥198.9bn.

Askul's contribution is mixed. LY's results presentation shows a ¥1.6bn fall in Askul's adjusted EBITDA within commerce. Askul says LY's figures will not match its own, because its quarter runs from 21 August to 20 November, and it reports under Japanese standards while LY uses IFRS. LY held 46.76% of Askul as of 20 May 2026.

Dividend

LY lifted its year-end dividend forecast to ¥12.00 a share from ¥11.00, and said the guidance revision fell below the timely-disclosure threshold and was published voluntarily.
