Kyushu Electric's chairman and president move up to a new holding company

A sole share transfer created a pure holding company above Kyushu Electric Power on October 1, the same date its former chairman and president took the same posts at the parent and a 1990 joiner became the utility's president.

Kyushu Electric Power Company, Incorporated became the wholly owned subsidiary of a new pure holding company on October 1, 2026, and the two men who led the utility as chairman and president now lead the parent. The company set up the holding company by sole share transfer, according to an extraordinary report filed on October 2.

Who runs what

The utility's former representative director and chairman, born in 1958, is no longer a representative director of Kyushu Electric. On October 1 he became representative director and chairman of the holding company.

The utility's former representative director and president, born in 1963, is now a part-time director of Kyushu Electric. At the holding company he is representative director and president.

The new utility president

The utility's board met on October 1 and resolved on the changes in representative directors. It named a director and managing executive officer, previously head of the energy services business headquarters, as representative director and president. He was born in 1966 and joined Kyushu Electric in April 1990. He was promoted to executive officer in June 2022 and to director and managing executive officer in June 2025. The report lists him as holding 24,893 shares of the holding company, calculated from holdings in the utility's stock as of June 25, 2026.

The report is a leadership notice. It gives no reason for the holding-company structure and does not describe any change to operations, regulation or finances.
