Global X Japan Pencils In Zero Payout for Its China Tech ETF, ¥900 for the S&P 500 Covered-Call Fund

A single notice from Global X Japan spans the extremes of income investing: its Japan-equity pricing-power fund is estimated to pay ¥1,300 per 100 units, while its China tech fund is estimated to pay nothing at all.

Seven trays holding varying amounts of yen coins, from a tall stack down to one empty tray, symbolizing a range of ETF distribution estimates from high to zero.

Global X Japan told the Tokyo Stock Exchange on August 6 what it expects to pay unitholders across seven of its exchange-traded funds, using distribution data as of August 5, for a calculation period that closes on August 10, 2026. The estimates are not final and can move if creation or redemption activity changes the underlying assumptions before the cutoff.

The spread across the lineup is wide. The Global X S&P 500 Covered Call ETF (2868), the fund named in this filing's issuer record, is estimated to distribute ¥900 per 100 units. Its NASDAQ100-tracking sibling, trading as 2865, is estimated higher at ¥1,100, while the Global X Pricing Power Leaders - Japan Equity ETF (328A) tops the group at ¥1,300 per 100 units. At the other end, the China Tech Top 10 ETF (404A) is estimated to distribute nothing this period.

The notice does not explain why the China Tech Top 10 ETF's estimate fell to zero this period, nor why the other six funds land where they do, from ¥300 for the US Tech Dividend Aristocrats fund up to ¥1,300 for the Japan pricing-power fund. Global X Japan's filing lists the figures without commentary on the income, holdings, or fund flows behind them.

Global X built in a trigger for a follow-up disclosure: if outstanding units in any of these funds rise or fall by more than 20% before August 10, and that swing changes the distribution math, the firm says it will publish a revised estimate. For holders of 2868 specifically, that means the ¥900-per-100-unit figure is a working number, not a locked one, until the period closes.
