I-ne CO.,LTD. (TSE: 4933) said the Financial Services Agency notified it on September 17 of a formal surcharge payment order worth ¥6mn, with payment due by November 17, 2026.
The order closes out a process that began June 26, 2026, when the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission recommended to the prime minister and the FSA commissioner, under Article 20, Paragraph 1 of the FSA Establishment Act, that the agency issue the surcharge. I-ne had already disclosed in July that it submitted a written response after a hearing procedure on the surcharge began.
The surcharge targets I-ne's 16th-term securities report, covering the year from January 1 to December 31, 2022. The company's notice does not describe what in that filing prompted the commission's recommendation or the FSA's order; it states only the amount, the underlying report and the payment deadline.
I-ne says it will pay the ¥6mn to the national treasury by the November deadline and has already booked the charge as a special loss in the second quarter of the current fiscal year, which ends in December 2026. Management said it expects no other material effect on results. The company apologized to shareholders, investors, business partners and other stakeholders for "the trouble and concern" caused and said it will continue working to prevent a recurrence.
