FIXER flags going-concern doubt after a ¥2.302bn net loss

After a ¥2.302bn net loss and a ¥2.239bn operating cash outflow, FIXER says a material uncertainty over its going-concern basis remains, with a ¥1.547bn cost cut under way and financing talks still unsettled.

FIXER, the Tokyo-listed AI and cloud services company, has told investors that events exist that cast significant doubt on its ability to continue as a going concern, and that a material uncertainty remains. The statement is in its results report for the year to August 2026. Earlier Tokyo Brief coverage

The numbers behind the doubt

The company reported sales of ¥3.122bn, down 21.6%, an operating loss of ¥2.316bn and a net loss attributable to shareholders of ¥2.302bn. The prior-year net loss was ¥2.117bn. Operating cash flow was again negative, at an outflow of ¥2.239bn, and cash and equivalents fell to ¥1.202bn from ¥3.085bn.

FIXER blames a slower-than-expected start to sales of its on-premise generative AI product, Sovereign GaiXer, and delays in selling medical AI services. It also says staffing and organisation were not scaled back to match sales of its cloud GaiXer service and project work, so fixed costs stayed high.

The proposed remedies

The company cites four measures: lower fixed costs, shifting resources toward Sovereign GaiXer, tighter budget and cash management, and funding talks with banks and other parties on borrowing and other financing. It plans to cut combined cost of sales and administrative costs from about ¥5.438bn to about ¥3.891bn, a reduction of about ¥1.547bn or 28%. Site cuts include ending the lease on part of a Yokkaichi floor at the end of July 2026, ending the Nagoya lease in March 2027 and giving up half of its Tokyo headquarters space that month.

The company says these steps are still being carried out. Headcount and site savings may not go to plan, Sovereign GaiXer order timing and scale are uncertain, and the timing and terms of financing are not settled. Its 2027 forecast still shows an operating loss of ¥510mn on sales of ¥3.381bn.

On 30 September FIXER cancelled its remaining share warrants, removing 2,762,000 shares of potential dilution, after judging it did not need to raise the unraised ¥1.625bn all at once. The results report is not subject to audit by an accountant or audit firm.
