Beauty Garage, the Tokyo-listed supplier of salon products, said 775,725 customer records registered with the company and its group have been confirmed as leaked after unauthorised access to its e-commerce site. The company disclosed the figure in a timely disclosure dated 15 October 2026.

What was taken

The leaked records include salon names, customer names, email addresses and phone numbers, according to the company. It said that, as of now, no leak of address information, purchase history or payment data, including credit card details, has occurred. The notice says the figure is the number of records confirmed so far; it does not say how many individual people they cover.

Beauty Garage said it has not confirmed that the leaked information was published or misused, and apologised to customers and others affected.

Timeline and response

The company detected a security incident on Tuesday 13 October, in which part of its customer information was flowing out. Its investigation so far shows the servers were breached from Saturday 10 October to Monday 12 October.

Beauty Garage said it has identified and shut the route used for the intrusion and is reporting to and consulting the Personal Information Protection Commission and other bodies. The e-commerce site and other services are running as normal.

Third-party unauthorised access is the only cause confirmed so far. How the intruders gained access is still under investigation, and the company said it will strengthen its security and work to prevent a recurrence once the cause is known.

Financial impact

The impact on earnings is under review, and the company said it will disclose promptly if anything material arises. The notice gives no cost estimate.
