Net profit at Japan's ERP bellwether OBIC rose 16.3% to ¥22.7bn in the June quarter, with its cloud-based system-support business growing faster than the core ERP software it sells directly to large and mid-sized firms, even as the company flags growing caution among corporate buyers.
OBIC's quarterly net profit rose 16.3% on stronger ERP and cloud demand, but a swing in unrealized securities valuations cut comprehensive income by more than three-quarters, and the software vendor left its full-year guidance untouched anyway.
Obic bought no shares in June under its ¥50.0bn repurchase plan, leaving the cumulative tally at 2,395,900 shares and ¥10.0bn with the programme still open through March 2027.
