Oracle Corporation Japan's board resolved on July 23, 2026 to pay a year-end dividend from surplus of ¥858 per share for the year ended May 2026, the software distributor said in a filing with the Tokyo Stock Exchange. That figure is made up of a ¥198 ordinary dividend and a ¥660 special dividend, funded entirely out of retained earnings.

The total payout comes to ¥110.08bn, against ¥24.4bn a year earlier, when the company paid ¥190 per share for the year ended May 2025. The disclosure does not break that prior-year figure into ordinary and special components, so it is not possible to say from this filing alone whether last year carried any special dividend at all.

The record date is May 31, 2026, and payment starts August 10, 2026, five days later in the calendar than last year's August 5, 2025 payment date. The company, listed under code 4716 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Standard Market, said the decision matches the dividend forecast it published on June 25, 2026.

On its reasoning, the filing offers boardroom boilerplate rather than a specific trigger: Oracle Japan said it weighed "funding needs for its business plan, performance, and cash flow balance" while trying to preserve financial soundness and management flexibility as it decided the payout. The filing does not explain what drove the size of the special dividend beyond that general framing, and it contains no commentary on full-year earnings for the period.
