Nitto Denko raises dividend forecast to ¥72 and authorises buyback of up to ¥50bn

Nitto Denko raised its full-year dividend forecast from ¥64 to ¥72 a share and authorised repurchases of up to ¥50bn, or 17 million shares, between 4 November 2026 and 24 March 2027.

Nitto Denko's board on 27 October 2026 authorised the company to buy back up to 17 million of its own shares for no more than ¥50bn, and raised its full-year dividend forecast from ¥64 to ¥72 a share. The company said the aim is to improve shareholder returns and return on equity under its Nitto RISE 2028 medium-term plan.

The buyback

The ceiling of 17,000,000 ordinary shares equals 2.58% of shares outstanding excluding treasury stock. The company can buy from 4 November 2026 to 24 March 2027. Both figures are upper limits, not completed purchases.

The notice gives the company's reasoning: it weighed its financial position and share price level, alongside its policy of managing cash on hand and shareholders' equity. At 30 September, Nitto Denko held 20,472,050 treasury shares. It cancelled 15,472,050 treasury shares on 20 October.

The dividend

The board decided an interim dividend of ¥36 a share, up from the ¥32 forecast on 27 April and the ¥30 paid a year earlier. The record date is 30 September, the payout totals ¥23.7bn and the effective date is 27 November.

The year-end dividend is a forecast, not a decision. It is now ¥36, up from ¥32, which brings the full-year forecast to ¥72. The prior year's total was ¥60.
