Hyakujushi Bank, the Tokyo Prime-listed regional lender, raised its forecast for net profit attributable to owners of the parent to ¥25bn for the year ending March 2027, from the ¥21bn it set on 12 May. The revision covers the half-year to September and the full year, and comes with a higher dividend forecast.
What moved
On a consolidated basis, the full-year ordinary profit forecast rises to ¥39bn from ¥33bn, and ordinary revenue to ¥139bn from ¥116.5bn. For the half-year to September, net profit is now forecast at ¥13bn, up from ¥11bn, against ¥8.94bn a year earlier.
| Item | May forecast | Revised forecast |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary revenue | ¥116.5bn | ¥139bn |
| Ordinary profit | ¥33bn | ¥39bn |
| Net profit attributable to owners of parent | ¥21bn | ¥25bn |
| Net profit per share | ¥185.69 | ¥220.90 |
| Annual dividend per share | ¥70 | ¥90 |
The bank attributes the change mainly to its standalone results. It says funds income, including loan interest, and gains on sales of stocks and other securities are expected to exceed the original forecast. The two are different in kind: interest on loans is recurring operating income, while stock-sale gains are realizations from the bank's portfolio. The notice gives no split between the two and no sensitivity to interest rates.
Dividend
The bank now forecasts a ¥45 interim dividend and a ¥45 year-end dividend, ¥90 for the year, up from ¥35 and ¥35, or ¥70, in May. It ties the increase to its medium-term plan for 2026 to 2028, which sets a payout ratio of at least 40% over the plan period and flexible share buybacks depending on results and market conditions.
Reading the per-share figures
The bank split each common share into four effective 1 April 2026. Forecast per-share figures for the current year are on a post-split basis, and the bank restated the prior-year earnings per share as if the split had happened at the start of the previous year. Its prior-year dividend, however, is shown in the notice before the split: ¥108 at the interim and ¥126 at the year-end, ¥234 in total. On a split-adjusted basis that is ¥27, ¥31.5 and ¥58.5. The new ¥90 forecast should be compared with the ¥58.5.
The forecast net profit per share is now ¥220.90, up from ¥185.69, against a restated ¥166.07 for the year ended March 2026. The bank cautions that actual results may differ from the forecasts because of various factors.
