The company is not releasing the committee's findings immediately. Nidec says it will publish the report on its corporate website on September 4, 2026, after applying what it calls the minimum necessary redactions to protect trade secrets belonging to Nidec, its group companies and suppliers, along with customer information and personal privacy. The two-day gap between receipt and publication leaves shareholders without detail on how many products, business lines or customers the unauthorized changes touched, or how far back the practice extended.
Nidec also plans to publish a separate set of recurrence-prevention measures on the same day, covering a review of its quality-assurance framework and stricter enforcement of compliance across the group. Management said it takes the report's findings and recommendations seriously, casting the September 4 release as the start of remedial work rather than a closing statement on the matter.
In Tuesday's notice, Nidec apologized to customers, shareholders and investors for the concern and inconvenience caused. That apology arrived before any findings became public, which is itself a marker of how little is confirmed: the notice describes only the category of misconduct under review, changes made without customer sign-off, without naming a count of affected parts, a financial figure, or which group companies were involved.
The real test comes Friday. Readers should watch whether the redacted report identifies specific product lines or subsidiaries, whether the recurrence-prevention plan includes board-level governance changes or independent audits, and whether Nidec puts any number, financial or otherwise, on the scope of the affected business once the redactions are applied.
