Koike Sanso Kogyo postpones interim results after cyberattack, now expected past the 45-day statutory deadline

Koike Sanso Kogyo has postponed its November 9 interim results because systems remain disrupted after an October 5 cyberattack, and it expects the announcement to pass the 45-day statutory deadline; the notice gives no new date.

Koike Sanso Kogyo (TSE Standard: 6137) has postponed the announcement of its interim results, originally planned for November 9, after a cyberattack on October 5 disrupted its systems and delayed its closing work. The company said in a notice dated October 21 that the announcement is now expected to fall after the statutory deadline for its half-year report.

Why the date moved

The company said the October 5 attack caused system failures that have slowed its accounts closing. It points to its October 15 announcement on the attack and says it is working to restore systems as quickly as possible. The postponed results cover the first half of the year ending March 2027.

The deadline problem

The notice says the results announcement is now expected to run past 45 days after the end of the interim period. The company describes that as the statutory filing deadline for the half-year report under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act. It apologised to shareholders and others affected.

What is still open

The notice gives no new date. The company said it will disclose one promptly once decided, depending on progress in restoring its systems as a whole.

On the financial effect, the company said only that it will disclose promptly any matter that warrants disclosure once it has examined the damage. The notice gives no estimate of costs or earnings impact.
