Fuji Seal International's board on 21 October 2026 resolved to start consultations with labour unions and other parties toward closing Fuji Seal France S.A.S., a consolidated subsidiary. The company's timely disclosure describes a first step, not a closure.
What the board decided
The company said it has kept its European business portfolio under review to respond to changes in the business environment and to raise group-wide competitiveness and capital efficiency. After weighing the French unit's market environment, earnings position and outlook, it judged that examining a restructuring that includes closure was appropriate.
The closure will be finally decided only after consultations with unions and others under local law, the notice says. Fuji Seal said it plans to carry out procedures under local law and talks with unions and other parties, will set its final policy in light of the results, and will disclose any further material developments promptly. The notice gives no timetable, and it does not say how many jobs are affected or where any production would go.
The subsidiary
Fuji Seal France makes and sells shrink labels and various packaging materials. It is based in Fougerolles, France, was founded in 1955 and has capital of 8,722 thousand euros. Fuji Seal Europe S.A.S. holds 100% of it, which makes it an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese parent. The notice lists royalty receipts as the only transaction between the parent and the unit, and it reports no personnel ties.
Financial impact
Fuji Seal said the effect on consolidated results is still being examined. The notice gives no closure costs or earnings figures, so the size of any charge is unknown for now.
