Bronco Billy, the Tokyo-listed steak and hamburger chain, reported operating profit of ¥3.05bn for the nine months to September, up 48.4% on a year earlier, on sales of ¥25.35bn, up 12.8%. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent rose 44.3% to ¥2.05bn. Operating margin was 12.0%, against 9.2% a year earlier.
Same-store sales: 7.8% growth
The company put same-store sales for January to September at 107.8% of the prior year. That index means growth of 7.8%, not 107.8%. Management's account of the period lists a salad bar upgraded in April 2026 into a larger buffet, seasonal menu items, a Korean food fair from June and a manga collaboration. The release does not attribute the sales gain to any single item. It describes dining-out demand as generally firm, but says labour, energy and ingredient costs keep conditions difficult.
Meat processor for the west
In April 2026 the company made a Yamaguchi Prefecture meat processor and prepared-meat maker a wholly owned subsidiary. It says it will build a system to make and supply products for Bronco Billy restaurants in western Japan, alongside expanding the processor's existing sales channels. That work includes consolidating management functions within the group. The group ended September with 164 restaurants: 148 Bronco Billy, 15 tonkatsu outlets and one izakaya.
Guidance unchanged
The full-year forecast, published on 22 July 2026, stands: sales of ¥34.0bn and operating profit of ¥3.97bn, up 12.5% and 35.5% respectively. The company also split its shares two-for-one effective 1 July 2026. Earnings per share and the ¥10 year-end dividend forecast reflect the split (¥20 on the old basis), while the release leaves the full-year dividend total blank, so dividend comparisons need care. One chain's same-store sales are not a gauge of national restaurant spending.
