Kanagawa Prefecture has reopened applications for its Service Continuity Support Subsidy, a program that helps disability welfare providers cover rising costs for equipment, supplies, and food. The additional round runs from September 10 to October 2, 2026, Japan time.
Who Can Apply Now
The catch is eligibility. This round is open only to corporations and facilities that could not submit an application during the first round, for whatever reason. Operators that already applied in round one are excluded from applying again for the same facility. The prefecture built in a carve-out for multi-site operators: if a corporation applied for some of its facilities in the first round but left others out, those unapplied facilities can now apply in this second window.
Applicants must also meet two standing conditions. They must be based in Kanagawa Prefecture, and as of the application date they must hold designation from the prefecture or the relevant municipality and be currently operating.
What The Money Covers
The subsidy, run under Kanagawa's service-continuity support guidelines for disability welfare service providers and facilities, partially covers the cost of equipment and supplies that operators will need going forward, plus food purchases, framed explicitly as a response to rising prices.

The prefecture has posted current guidelines, application forms, and frequently asked questions on its website for applicants navigating the process a second time.
The reopening is narrow by design: it is limited to operators that missed the first round, plus previously unapplied facilities within corporations that already have an application on file. Kanagawa's welfare operators still sitting on unfiled facility applications have about three weeks to gather documents before the October 2 cutoff.
